Hair and makeup for your Bali wedding
The key to a good wedding makeup is looking like yourself, only better!
When Kate Middleton married prince William, it has been widely reported that she chose to do the makeup on her own, because she wanted William to recognize her. If you usually wear a little makeup only, that’s the way to go on your wedding day.
There are also a few other things you should consider:
Do you want your hair and makeup done professionally?
If you choose to let a pro do your hair on your big day, you can ask him if he can also do your makeup. Think about making a trial run before the ceremony. You don’t want your wedding day to be a big hair- and makeup-surprise.
The most important part of your makeup: The skin tone.
No matter how big you eyes look or how shiny your lips appear, if you have oily skin, you will not look your best on your wedding day. Focus on making your skin look beautiful and healthy before you move on to the eyes, lips and cheeks.
Match your eyes to your mouth.
A simple makeup rule is to either lay focus on your eyes or on your mouth. If you play up both, you may risk appearing like a clown. So if you use a lot of eye makeup, choose some light colors for your gloss or lipstick. If you go for a deep or bright color, keep the eye makeup relatively light.
Waterproof mascara is the way to go.
There is a really small chance that you won’t tear up at some point of your wedding, so make sure to use the waterproof mascara on your big day. Also make sure to ask your maid of honor to carry some tissues for you. If you have blond hair and very light skin, you should choose the brown mascara over the black one.
A quick tip for your hair:
Stylists usually claim that dirty hair makes the best updos. If you don’t want to show up with dirty hair on your wedding day, consider the hair stylists secret and use baby powder or dry shampoo to achieve that ‘dirty’ texture. That way you can keep your hair clean and still get the best out of your updo. Also pack some extra hairspray and pins, just in case some hair keeps falling.
